The A. Lange & Söhne: Lange 1 1994 watch, has become the most iconic watch in the Saxon watchmaker’s collection. The watch is deeply influenced by its German heritage, taking inspiration from the Five-Minute Clock found in the Sempra Opera House in Dresden, Germany. The Five-Minute Clock was built on request of the King Frederick Augustus II of Saxony in order to allow everyone at the opera house to read clearly the time without disturbing the musical performance by activating minute repetitions. This mechanism is captured in the Lange 1 and is what helped give it its iconic status.

The sword-shaped hands, the applied hour indexes, the sculpted lugs, and the choice of precious materials for cases and dials are all shown in glorious detail and contribute to the strong identity of this print. Pressed in Long Island City on 8" x 10" 100 lb FSC certified archival cover stock using the best Van Sons Elite soy based inks, this lithographic print expertly captures all the detail and german craftsmanship that went into the design of the timepiece.
